Sorry, we will not be organising holidays in 2012.
However, in 2013 there will be simple courses based in the UK as well as photographic holidays in Venice. We will publish these dates soon. If you would like us to keep you informed please get in touch via the contact page.
There will also be a new website for 2012.

VENICE
This magical city, known locally as ‘la Serenissima’ (the Most Serene One), is a photographer’s paradise, particularly at dawn and at dusk.
Too often the best photographic opportunities are missed because the photographer does not have local knowledge or is aware of the best time to visit a site. As Venice specialists we will take you to the best vantage points and show you how to develop your creative flair and capture the magic of Venice in all its colourful and historic splendour.
In addition you will learn how to get the best from your digital camera to make the most of your special holiday that will take you to areas of Venice that are every bit as picturesque as the well known major attractions, yet offer a different slant on ‘la Serenissima’!
What our guests say:
Many thanks to yourself and Christian for a fantastic week, it’s a shame to be back in the rainy UK as I had such a great time. Suffice to say I wouldn’t hesitate in
booking another photographic holiday!

This special photographic holiday will cover: improving composition; taking a conceptual view and converting this to a more artistic approach; improving understanding of focal range and depth of field; getting the best from exposure; utilizing ISO, shutter speed and aperture to improve image capture; include easy tips and techniques that will help transform your photographs; learn about aspects of your own camera and how to get the best from your photographic development: image improvements with computer software such as Photoshop Elements.
The hotel we have chosen for 2011 is the Hotel Ala (www.hotelala.it) conveniently located, less than a ten minutes stroll from St Mark’s Square and only 50 metres from the Grand Canal and the Giglio vaporetto stop. Hotel Ala is a family run ‘superior’ three star hotel with over 80 rooms. The building, once a canal-side palace, has been sympathetically converted to retain its old world charm, yet reflect the modernity of a top class hotel with modern en-suite rooms furnished with Italian designer flair.(The hotel is part of the Best Western Group but independently owned).
The holiday was extremely enjoyable – from the staff and the facilities to the variety of places we visited. Christian’s tuition was excellent, detailed, and informal and I feel that I have improved considerably from when I arrived! I enjoyed the laid back nature of the course and we covered so much over the week. The places we visited were often off the beaten track and provided fantastic shots that you wouldn’t necessarily find on the normal tourist trail making unique shots!

We had a great holiday with you and, for me, I will always be interested to come again. Mary was welcomed and felt welcome and loved it all - apart from my Bacchanalian wiles.

As well as the famous Basilica, Doges Palace and the tall, imposing Campanile tower, all situated in and around the central tourist area of Piazza San Marco, there are many other well-known and often photographed sights, such as the islands of Murano and Burano. We ensure you also get to photograph some of the quieter local areas and backwaters not known or often visited by tourists that can help make your holiday a truly memorable and worthwhile experience.
A feast of imagery and photographic opportunity this holiday will introduce you to includes:
vibrant colours; surprising shadows and reflections; amazing art and architecture; beautiful black gondolas; a host of water based canal activities; colourful street life; the famous vibrant Rialto market produce and stallholders and, of course, night-time Venice is a must.
We invite you to join us in the magic of a special photographic holiday offering excellent waterside accommodation that only Venice and its photogenic islands can offer.
Creative photography courses are great fun where you expand your skills and make new like-minded friends. Our guests enjoy a wonderful and entertaining holiday experience, capture beautiful landscapes, city views and arhitecture and delight in achieving excellent results – not to mention the relaxing and comfortable accommodation, scenery and delicious food for which Italy is well known!
Non-participating guests sharing a room are welcome. We have arranged a few places and it is recommended to reserve these places early! See Itinerary & Accommodation page for prices.
